Maven Data wanted to dig further into what were the top issues that impacted sentiment when COVID hit and lockdowns began – particularly how the restrictions not only affected our economy but our mental health.
The aim of this report was to highlight the effect of lockdown on people’s mental health and overall wellbeing during the Melbourne stage 4 lockdown. We took a look at liquor sales, domestic violence offences, mental and physical health challenges, comparing data from January – June 2020 with the exact same period in 2019 to establish a point and conclude whether or not the harsh stage 4 lockdowns were absolutely necessary, and what were the ramifications on the Australian economy.
Did our government make the right decision? What are the next stages for recovery, not just for COVID-19 related matters, but overall health in society? How easy will it be to bounce back to “normal”?
